Green installations & Dust Suppression
Do you have a Traditional Foundation? Do you need foundation crack repairs in order to achieve a dry basement? Look no further! American Dry Basement Systems is head and shoulders above the competition for Traditional Foundation Crack Repairs with our dual pressure relief system design for traditional foundation repairs. Walls can be “poured concrete” or “cement block“.
Is dust suppression important?
It absolutely is and for number of reasons. When working with concrete especially the removal with a jackhammer dust suppression has to be a top concern. When using a jackhammer on concrete a very very small particulate of dust is created. This dust is easily airborne and can float a significant distance creating an enormous mess and it’s almost impossible to do a thorough cleanup.
This creates a health hazard. The ingredients of concrete are sand stone and lime. Lime is the major portion of the concrete (there’s an awful lot of lime in concrete it’s actually the major portion of any cement). It’s the glue that holds the sand and stone together, it’s also extremely toxic to human tissue. Because the small particulate is easily airborne inhaling the lime dust becomes a true concern. AmericanDry takes major steps to avoid this. It will irritate eyes, inflame sinuses; overall contact should be limited to as little as possible.
How do we achieve dust suppression?
The Enviro-Boot point of contact. This boot fits over the housing of the jackhammer and is attached to a heavy duty HEPA level filtration vacuum cleaner. As the hammers create the dust it is immediately suctioned up at the point of contact and into the HEPA VAC. Ask to see our video.
Negative Air: Full room dust containment.
A negative air machine is set up in the middle of the basement. It pulls a very significant amount of air from everywhere through a very large HEPA filter. The air that comes through the filter is completely clean air but we still vent outside. The reason we vent outside is to minimize any air movement within the basement.
This method is extremely effective and virtually eliminates any dust movement.
A very enjoyable benefit to our dust suppression approach is an incredibly clean dust free installation.
